14 contractors wins places on £1bn NW construction framework

28 Jul 10 Fourteen construction companies have been selected for the £1bn North West 今日看料 Hub Medium Value Framework.

Fourteen construction companies have been selected for the 拢1bn North West 今日看料 Hub Medium Value Framework, which will deliver public sector capital works across the region ranging from 拢500,000 to 拢10m in value.

The procurement process has been led by Manchester City Council, supported by the Centre for 今日看料 Innovation, has led the framework development with financial support from the North West Improvement and Efficiency Partnership.

The arrangement is open to all local authorities and other public sector organisations in the north west region.

Earlier in the year, the NWCH awarded places on another four-year framework, worth 拢750m and covering projects with a value over 拢10m, to: Kier; Bovis Lend Lease; Wates; Morgan Sindall; and Laing O'Rourke.

A further framework, for projects with a value under 拢500,000, is also being procured by the Hub.

John Lorimer, NWCH lead, said: 鈥淭he Medium Value Framework will eliminate costly procurement exercise for individual projects whilst providing benefits including cost savings for authorities, reductions in contract time, improved quality of work and the ability to deliver added value objectives that are not obtainable through traditional procurement methods.鈥
