Catnic to the rescue

25 Mar 11 Catnic, has recently helped the Channel 5 TV series, Cowboy Builders, a show that focuses on helping correct the work carried out by unreliable workmen.

Catnic鈥檚 Usk juliet balcony, supported by its technical expertise was used by the show鈥檚 design team to fix an extension to a family home in Croy, Glasgow.

Catnic鈥檚 juliet balconies, or false balconies as they are sometimes known, are shallow balconies designed to provide a safety barrier in front of French windows.聽 Catnic manufactures the balconies in three designs聽 - Usk, Brecon and Monmouth 鈥 and they are available in both standard and bespoke designs in width increments of 100mm from 1200mm to 3000mm. For this project, the Usk juliet balcony was provided in a width of 1800mm.聽

Cowboy Builders was rectifying work carried out by a local builder who, after nine months work and 拢23,000, left the family with a bare timber frame with no brick walls, windows or doors. With the help of the show鈥檚 design team and manufacturers, such as Catnic, whose balcony was installed on the first floor, outside the new master bedroom鈥檚 French windows the family鈥檚 home was repaired and renovated to the highest standard.

Mike Murphy, Sales and Marketing Director for Catnic comments, 鈥淲hen we were approached by Channel 5鈥檚 Cowboy Builders, we wanted to help any way we could.聽 This project was for a really deserving family that had endured months of stress.聽 We are very proud that Catnic was able to help make it happen.鈥澛犅犅犅
