The development, for North East Lincolnshire Council, includes a 25-metre, eight-lane swimming pool, a health and fitness suite with studio space and associated ancillary facilities including a caf茅.
Construction will begin alongside the existing leisure centre on the Cromwell Road site next this summer, with a planned opening date of autumn 2015.
Interserve divisional director John Gittins said: 鈥淭his isn鈥檛 just another project for Interserve, it is a really exciting local leisure investment.鈥�
He added: 鈥淭here are now many leisure centres nationally that are expensive to operate and look tired. This new centre will be exemplar and efficient.鈥�
The council was advised by facilities management contractor Cofely, part of the French GDF Suez group.
