The contractor has been appointed to the final 拢multi-million phase, which will mark the conclusion of a major programme of investment to enhance the patient experience at the highly regarded hospital.
This latest contract sees the comprehensive refurbishment of patient accommodation within the building, comprising 41 individual rooms, as well as consulting and treatment rooms and administrative office areas. The modernisation programme also sees ISG Jackson reconfiguring and rationalising internal space to create a contemporary environment for visitors to the hospital, with a new reception area and improved accessible entrance with an external canopy.
Carefully scheduling the works will enable the hospital to remain fully operational throughout the project鈥檚 duration, with a highly complex strip out and partial replacement of the building鈥檚 mechanical & electrical services carried out across eight individual phases to minimise disruption. The hospital鈥檚 fa莽ade will also be transformed as part of the project, with the contractor applying render and modern cladding panels to the exterior elevations, as well as installing new windows and curtain walling elements.
Previously, ISG Jackson refurbished three of the hospital鈥檚 operating theatres, as well as the pathology and histology laboratories and created a number of new offices and administrative areas for hospital staff. Work is expected to conclude on this final phase of work in March 2012.聽
