Under the four-year contract, the existing station will be 聽extended to provide interchange facilities between the existing Tsuen Wan Line, the new South Island Line (East) and the proposed Shatin to Central Link.聽 Four new platforms will be built below and adjacent to the existing station. The contract was won against international competition following a two-stage tender process and will be executed under a target cost arrangement with work starting on site immediately.
