Taking second place was Galliford Try, which secured the most contract awards in the month with a haul of 19 with a combined value of 拢202.3m. Student accommodation figured large here too, with a 拢40m contract to build rooms at Godiva Place in Coventry.

Just two contract wins were enough to give Skanska third place with a 拢165m haul. Largest of these is a 拢153m contract for the refurbishment of London鈥檚 Waterloo Station for Network Rail.

Balfour Beatty 拢152.6m haul comes from four contracts, the largest of which is a 拢130m contract for a lorry park off the M20.

Over the past 12 months, Galliford Try has picked up more work in the UK than any other construction contractor. It is the only company to have signed more than 拢2bn of new orders in the rolling year.
