Leadbitter Group’s work with the community honoured at On Site Bristol awards

11 Oct 11 Representatives of the Leadbitter Group proudly accepted the award for Investment in the Community at this year’s On Site Bristol Annual Awards.

The award recognises the company or organisation that has best supported apprenticeships for under-represented groups in the community.

Darren Perkins, On Site Project Manager, said: 鈥淟eadbitter was nominated because of its long-term recruitment of local trainees from all backgrounds and the level of support it provides to apprentices. In addition, the company continuously supports community initiatives, including On Site鈥檚 schools outreach programme.鈥

Charlie Hargreaves, Leadbitter鈥檚 Community Engagement Coordinator for the Bristol area, said: 鈥淟eadbitter takes its commitment to engaging with the community and providing local labour and training opportunities very seriously. We鈥檝e had a significant presence in Bristol over the past five years while working on the regeneration project in Barton Hill, which has allowed us to not only get to know the community, but make a real contribution to it. We don鈥檛 do this to win awards, but it is wonderful to have our efforts recognised in this way.鈥

Leadbitter previously won On Site鈥檚 Services to the Community Award in 2008, after being nominated by Sovereign Group, its client on the Barton Hill regeneration project.聽
