It was the 24th consecutive year of growth for Mace and a year in which it created 400 new jobs, increasing direct employee numbers by 14% to 3,800.
Mace remains on course to meet its target of 拢2bn turnover target by 2020, with 7,200 employees. In 2008 Mace鈥檚 turnover was 拢617m.
There was also a 32% drop in RIDDOR reportable injuries during the year, despite an 18% increase in the number of people working on Mace construction sites. The company also donated 1% of pre-tax profits to the Mace Foundation, resulting in 拢330,000 going to charitable causes.
Project completions during 2013 included the Great Northern Hotel at London鈥檚 King鈥檚 Cross and the British Museum鈥檚 World Conservation & Exhibitions Centre in London. New appointments included work on Battersea Power Station in London, and what will be the world鈥檚 tallest building, Saudi Arabia鈥檚 Kingdom Tower, in a joint venture with EC Harris.
