Linden Homes, the UK鈥檚 fifth largest housebuilder has 拢313m of housing sales carried forward. This was up 15% up on 2012 and a record high for the company, it said. The sales came from 2,932 units completed (including joint ventures). Linden Homes鈥 private sales price rose 5% to 拢262,000.
Over the period 1 July 2012 to 30 June 2013, Linden Homes increased its landbank to its highest level at 11,300, nearly 60% of which have detailed planning consent. In addition, it maintains a strong strategic land holding and is looking to add a further 1,000 plots this year, the company said.
Managing director Andrew Richards said: 鈥淭hese positive results are due to a strategy which includes our continued emphasis on acquiring our developments in strong regional centres, a focus on community engagement and improved mortgage availability.
鈥淭his success was further bolstered during the last few months by the launch of the government鈥檚 Help to Buy scheme which has been well received across Linden Homes developments nationwide, now accounting for 30% of new reservations.鈥
Mr Richards said he wanted to keep growing the business but with improved margins to make it more profitable.
