Skylark has a target of putting 350MW of new green energy projects into the planning system in its first five years, which would represent a potential investment of 拢500m should the projects be consented. 350MW is enough to supply 200,000 homes.

Three development sites have already been identified for Skylark鈥檚 first round of investment, representing around 100MW of generating capacity, with the target of delivering energy by 2018.

Ecotricity founder Dale Vince said: 鈥淓cotricity were the world鈥檚 first green electricity company, while Skanska aims to be the greenest construction company in the world 鈥 our shared pursuit of sustainability and our complementary skill sets creates a strong partnership.

鈥淓cotricity will use its expertise in green energy development to design wind parks and gain planning consents, while Skanska will use their expertise in construction to build them. It鈥檚 a simple partnership that will help to bring energy independence to Britain using green energy made in Britain.鈥

Skanska Infrastructure Development executive vice president Steve Cooper said that, at his company, 鈥渨e strive to push forward the green agenda in construction and infrastructure development鈥.
