The track machine is sung by popular Irish performer Seamus Moore, who gained notoriety by entering and winning a talent competition in Ireland, with his own composition called “The JCB Song”, which was the original version of the song and was composed long before the Nizlopi version which went on to top the UK charts. Seamus was presented with a gold disc by his record company for achieving over 50,000 sales and has been affectionately known as the JCB Man ever since.
In this light hearted folk tune, he sings about a man’s love affair with his new tracked machine, and how the operator tends to neglect his loving wife at home. I am sure many of us can relate to that! Sharp eyed digger spotters will soon see a mistake though as Seamus sings about the operator buying a new Mitsubishi machine, but the machine in the video is clearly a New Holland model!
Enjoy your special day Father’s and stay tuned to the Digger Blog.
